Section 8 Tenant-Based Voucher ProgramWait List Opening Announcement
The Housing Authority of the City of Meriden (HACM) will be accepting Section 8 Tenant-Based applications (HCV Program).
HCV is a federally-funded program that subsidizes decent, safe, and sanitary housing for low-income persons.
When: The open enrollment period will be from Wednesday, March 17, 2021, at 9:00 a.m. to Wednesday, March 31, 2021, at 4:30 p.m. ET. Only one pre-application per family will be accepted. Duplicate applications will be rejected. If you need assistance in another language, Google Translate will assist you during the application process.
Where: Pre-applications can be submitted online at https://www.waitlistcheck.com/CT2833-3336 with the use of a personal computer, laptop, smartphone, and tablet. If you do not have internet services you can obtain a pre-application at 22 Church St, Meriden, CT or the Meriden Housing website at www.meriden-ha.com and can be drop off at the drop box located on the right side of the building. Any applications mailed to our office must be postmarked no later than March 31, 2021. Incomplete applications will not be included in the lottery and will be discarded. Reasonable Accommodation:It is the policy of the MHA to provide reasonable accommodations to those persons with disabilities so that they can participate equally in its housing programs. Once the waitlist open enrollment period ends, 2000 pre-applications will be selected to be on the waitlist.Only those randomly selected will be notified of placement on the waiting list.
